Angel and Cat

I was looking through my old desk shelves to see if I had any more mini canvases and came across this piece of wood, with the angel and cat drawn out, and a hook already on the back. I'm thinking this was something I'd planned to finish before the move to Pennsylvania, but forgot about. I've got about 6 paintings I'm simultaneously working on, so why not just add another into the mix! I ended up finishing this painting before the others. I love crackle...

Today I hope to finish another of the Frida and Skellie Cats paintings. I keep getting requests for it and I think this will be the 4th or 5th time I've repainted this idea. Most times Frida has a different colored dress. Today it will be red. =)

Oh crackle, how I love thee...

I managed to eek out a new painting today, between the laundry and cleaning of the basement rooms for my son's after school play date. It's a "Spring angel"...her job is to find all the lost kittens and return them to their home. Hey, I make it up as I go along! lol I decided to control the crackling on this painting, more-so than I normally do. Heavy crackle on the background and wings, less in other spots. It came out exactly how I wanted. Hooray! The painting looks nice and aged. =)
Ok, I'm off to tackle the numerous black and white tiled floors-get them gleaming again. =P
