It's now December 16th, and there's no snow here! Where's the snow?! I've been dying to go out into the forest and photograph the 'skeleton' trees, glistening and sparkling with snow and frost. Nothing! Last year, we were sledding down the front yard (it's a bit of a hill) in thick snow! Ah well, hopefully snow comes soon...and maybe even for Christmas.

We have two Christmas trees this year, which has now created two different feels to both rooms the trees are in. We thought we'd have a 'smaller' Christmas this year, but it turns out, we really like our trusty Balsam Hill HUGE Christmas tree. I've created a new ornament for this year: a skeleton kitty ornament! Straight from my paintings, this little skeleton kitty fits perfectly with the ghosts and witches. All my ornaments are handmade by me, no templates, just me cutting the shape of the clay with a little pokey clay tool. Then baked in the oven, cooled, and painted! Then I added a bit of wire with a rusty jingling bell to finish

Finally got some of these finished! So last night I was talking with a friend and asked, "What should I paint?" We both came up with the idea of a bear, a bear named Bernard, a bear named Bernard that lives in a birch tree forest, and bear named Bernard who lives in a birch tree forest and loves strawberry ice cream. The past two days here have been absolutely glorious thanks to a nice soft breeze. On glorious days I think of bicycling. It was such a beautiful day today! My daughter picked all the (weeds) flowers she could find in the grass and made a pretty little bouquet. The yellow of the dandelions was so brilliant, I couldn't help but be inspired to paint something yellow. I was stuck on a bright yellow New Beetle. I see so many of these, so I know people like the yellow!
