20 Days...

Until the big move to Pennsylvania! We have donated as much as we could, making the last random trip this morning. We literally scoured the house for things that weren't packed that we didn't need. It was extremely slim pickings. lol

My mom's husband touched down in our new town last week and will be sending better pictures as here's there to take out the carpet and any *gasp* wall panelling, so for now I just have these two from the Winter, of the front of the house. We'll be painting the house the same color of the one we're in. Dark grey with white trim. The house is in definite need of a new paint job. =)We're so excited, we just can't wait to get there and see the house in person. Our new washer and dryer showed up today, so that's super.

In regards to painting-I'm hoping to have my new studio all set up and ready for painting in early-mid July. I'll try to update this blog as things unfold. =^..^=

Cleaning Out the Studio...

Yep it's time to clear it all out. I'm listing tons of paintings at bargain prices on ebay. I still despise ebay, but I'm hoping to get these paintings all sold before I move. I don't want them in the hands of the movers...easier if they go to their new homes, you see?

So go take a look! All paintings on Etsy will eventually be listed on ebay.

Purple VW Beetle?

I think I might have forgotten about this painting! I painted it after the midnight blue beetle, and I know I would have blogged about it, but alas no mention. Strange. It's hanging on my finished paintings wall and as I was picking paintings off to pack, I noticed it. Sooooo....

I'm still working on VW magnets, so the post for today is the purple bug! lol It's painted with my purple metallic paints and looks super awesome in person.

Antique Settee

I'm a little late today getting a painting done, but I didn't want to go without a blog for today. I'm watching this nail-biting game Houston vs. Portland Trail Blazers. I'm not a fan of watching sports because I feel like ripping up paper everytime it's sooo close. Very frustrating. lolSo my painting for tonight is one of my favorite subjects, cats on settees/sofas/couches... These tuxedo cats lived in a rather old house where the paint on the walls was crackled as badly as the old wooden floors. The settee, however, never seemed to aged. For the cats, it was the purrfect seat in the house. =)

Off to watch the rest of this game!

Beetle Butts...

I thought I'd change it up a bit and try a different perspective with my VW bug paintings. I'm really bad when it comes to perspectives other than straight on, so my safest bet was the back. Then came the yellow. Yellow can be a real bugger too, for me, but I think I worked it out! I originally was going to put a bunch of bumper stickers on the back like my own, "Keep Portland Weird", until I told my mom and she asked how regional I wanted to make the painting. Yeah, so I settled with a little pink peace sign. =) I hope you like it!

I'll be listing this painting in my Etsy shop later today.

Happy Sunday!

It's been a slightly productive day in that I managed to clean out my car today while the kids dug up 'old treasures' (aka a piece of old wood) in the back garden. I even cleaned the windows of my car. I know right? That's quite a feat. I contemplated cleaning the outside, but frankly, I didn't have the patience to deal with the sap from the evil pine tree in my neighbor's back yard. What a bummer that I have all this sap on my car. =( Pictured above my nightmare...yes, that's what I put up with-during Winter. It's either that or park on the street and pay for a new side mirror (people can't drive...) or hassle with the car cover which I gave up on. It's not filthy like that now. lol Oh right, I finished a painting today. Got sidetracked with the car thing. That picture just kills me lol. Ok, so I painted another nun today holding a kitty, with minimal crackle. No it's not because it's Sunday (non-religious here), I'm not sure why the nun was today's theme. It could be from watching the news and seeing the Mexican nuns walking with face masks earlier. What a frightening thing-swine flu. Yikes... I'm working on a different view of a VW Beetle too, so that'll come later tonight/tomorrow. =)

Off to order sushi now. I can't wait any longer. *wow had to edit a lot, I wrote this way too fast and had too many typos. lol*

Cool Cats

I managed to get a painting done yesterday even though I thought I'd have no time at all! This is another road trip painting. Where do you think of when you see palm trees? I originally thought of California Cool Cats, but honestly, Calif. isn't the only place with palm trees, so why box the painting in. These cats could be anywhere!

Keeping this short today (or this morning-I could post again later). Anna has a t-ball game this morning. Whee!

Love The Earth

Did you really think I'd go the whole day without painting a cat? No way! The kitties have to show their love on Earth day too. This is Charlie giving the Earth one great big hug! =^..^=

Have I mentioned that I twitter? No? Well click RIGHT HERE to follow me on Twitter!

Happy Earth Day!

My Earth Day painting for today continues from another painting I did a while ago. No cats in these, but there is a little black bird. =) The idea of the painting series is that you shouldn't forget where you come from-you are one with the earth. Plain and simple, like the painting. lol

Project Bye Bye Birdie just contacted me regarding our birds and climate change. They provided me with a very important link that I thought I'd share here too. http://audubonaction.org/campaign/birdsandclimate

Musical Interlude

So I've been pretty busy the past weekend, emptied 22 boxes of stuff in the garage for the Goodwill. We don't do yard sales-interaction with people and this price or that...no thank you. It's easier just to donate, plus donating is awesome. We're totally getting in gear to move hopefully in August or early September.Sooooooo...that brings me to today. WOOHOO!! Today is the release of Depeche Mode's new album! I've been a fan ever since I heard them in Toluca Lake on the radio-Kroq-when I was 11. I thought about pre-ordering it, but honestly I have no patience for the mail. You see, I've been waiting almost a month now for my replacement cd for Sigur Rós' Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust. I decided that I couldn't wait any longer, so I picked up that cd this morning as well! lol With one new cd and my fav current cd (Sigur Rós') I'll be happily painting along today. =)
